An object came plummeting down the side of the mountain. Radom being the heavier one was the one that hit the dirt ground first deep in the jungle. She cushioned Spode's fall and her own powers protected it from killing her, but her arms that had been holding on tightly to the Dingo loosened and she fell into sleep.

Spode scrambled out of her grip and flopped down on his back. He winced, the fall had taken the wind out of him but he had survived thanks to Radom. His wind powers were dormant again and he whined, tail and ears pinning back. "...I'm so stupid."

"Quite the fall you had." A female voice spoke to them. It came up from up above them, crouched on one of the thick branches of a tree was a hedgehog girl. She had pale white fur, six back head spikes and markings of both red and green that seemed to shift placement every time you looked away and then back to her. She wore a black shirt and dark red skirt, the rings on her wrists and ankles were onyx, as was the rims along her shoulderpads. Her cape was shadowy black and her eyes a deep red. Her gloves and shoes were green with red. She examined him and Radom with an odd look, it was hard to say what she was thinking as whatever it was... It didn't show on her face.

Spode blinked. He hadn't seen her there until now. Still he nodded slowly. "Yes... It was." His voice was slow and sort of forlorn. He glanced back at Radom. ...Well she's sleeping. That's better than being dead. Damn she's tough.

"Radom possesses amazing powers, even though it is only a fraction of what she is capable of. If she gave into her other half she'd have so much more." The hedgehog jumped off the tree limb, landing on the ground as softly as she had just taken a step down a single stair. "But it's not just her abilities you admire now is it, hmm?"

"If she gave in to her other half... But wouldn't that change her? Make her different than the Ra I know?" Spode asked, sort of wondering out loud. The hedgehog's last sentence jolted him out of his thinking process. There was a pause then a sort of moment or two where he did nothing but blink. Then Spode met her gaze. "Maybe."

"Cute. A dingo and his Echidna. A mortal and his immortal." She laughed quietly and seemed to disappear into the shadows of a tree. Her voice next spoke from the other side of Spode. "Do you think you're worthy of her?"

"Y...yes..." He stammered. Still his ears and tail dropped. "Maybe? All I've done is cause her trouble. All I've done is get her injured and made her have to save my tail. Twice by now at least." I'm not so sure. ...Who is this voice? This hedgehog messing with my mind?

Something caught Issil around the neck, and pulled him down so he ended up sitting. The hedgehog walked around him, it had been the hook end to the large hammer she was now holding. "So you're not sure? You think because you brought her trouble you are not worthy. Let me say something first though. Your brother Ulrich showed up looking for the Chaos Emerald, to him you being there to torture was just a nice little bonus. He would have encountered Radom anyway. Secondly, Oblivion was after Radom. Your being there hardly changed anything."

Spode winced, not liking the idea that the hammer had gotten so close to his neck. "I-I hadn't thought about that... You're right- whoever you are. Still I could have done better to defend her. Though I suppose I would have lost anyway. Oblivion was too powerful and I was angry and headstrong. Ulrich is still stronger than me. Always has been."

She propped it on her shoulder, looking down at him. "Oblivion is more powerful than Radom, more powerful than a lot of the pitiful beings on this planet. I could not expect you, a mortal, to match up to him. No, you have not been very successful thus far trying to defend her. I wonder..." She was gone again, this time sitting right beside him. "Do you simply want to return the favor of her helping you, or do you aim to impress her with it?"

A very small smile crossed the dingo's lips. He met her gaze. While he wasn't very brave and had trouble admitting feelings due to being much shyer than his siblings, he responded none-the-less. He'd relaxed a little it seemed. "Maybe both?"

"I wonder if you'll still wish such if I inform you that you are not the only looking for her favor." She raised an eyebrow. "There are others that you will have to encounter, maybe even fight, if you want Radom."

Spode was silent for a moment then he looked at Radom who was still sleeping. "She's the nicest person I've ever met beside my erm... 'father'. Even Archer and Ulrich never cared enough to support me. Neither of them would so much as lift a finger to save me- Okay Archer might. ...But I think I'd like to be near Radom for a long time. If I had to choose... I would get over myself. I would fight for her friendship even if it never turned into anything more."

The hedgehog was silent a moment. Then cut the silence with a loud "Hmmph." She stood and walked towards the trees. "You will get your wish, fighting for her friendship or more." She swung the hammer and it knocked over a tree, which seemed to fall onto another tree and knock it down. Then another and another... It was quite the fantastic display of destruction. Now that their sight wasn't covered by that large section of trees, she pointed towards the visible mountain lines in the distance. "You, and Radom, must pass that wall of mountains to find the tower. Make sure you have the Emerald with you, Radom's other half will allow her entry while you will need the Chaos Emerald to enter. You have five days to make it to the tower, more than enough time. There you will be given the chance to obtain what you want most in life."
