The dingo sighed, shaking his head. The beads in his hair clicked together in a quiet sound which echoed through the silence of the jungle even with the noises of the place all around. "Damn it... How'd I get so lost?" he mumbled to himself. He tried to spread his black and white albatross wings but promptly let out a cry of pain. Broken. "Great, just great. Now what do I do?" He gazed up at the towering trees above him and the thickness of the jungle around. There was no escape except on foot and judging by the light that managed to filter through the trees sunset was fast approaching. Sure he still had his wind abilities but without his wings he was a sitting duck out here.

Spode probably did not realize it yet, but he was being stalked through these jungles. A golden Echidna moved silently through the trees that were so much like those of her old past... A spear in hand and red eyes watching his every move. She wasn't going to attack him really... She was just curious, he didn't look like he belonged here.

Trapped! The dingo's mind screamed at him as did the bird in him. Both had natural instincts that had imprinted upon his brain. When you can't fly you run and vice versa. However, with broken wings and no clue where he was going he had no chance if the Echidna meant him any harm. Only going by the feeling he was being watched and not knowing by what he tried to speak. "...Hello?" Spode was nervous this much was obvious. He folded his wings around himself the best he could without causing any mind-numbing pain and folded his arms across his chest. He hoped this wasn't a bad situation. The very last thing he needed was a fight.

Radom blinked, surprised that he knew she was there... She had moved silently, without any slip ups... Perhaps she was just out of practice of moving through the jungle... She was quite stealthy in her home terrain. She stepped out from behind the trees and into full view. She had the spear still in her hand but put the point into the ground to show she was not hostile.

Spode's eyes widened when she emerged. Weren't Echidnas extinct? Or perhaps it was just a rumor or something. He could see though she carried the spear she wouldn't harm him. He relaxed. The dingo tilted his head and once more the beads clicked. "G'day Miss-" He had no idea what to call her. Realizing it he cut himself off not wanting to sound rude by just calling her "Gold Echidna" or something of the sort. "Name's Spode. ...I'm jus' a bit lost. Think you can offer a mate a lil' help?"

Radom was baffled by the way this creature was speaking. His accent, and just the way he used the words... She looked perplexed and tilted her head. "Who's mate?"

"Oh you don' know?" He asked, confused. "Sorry lemme start again. Name's Spode. Pardon m' accent... "Mate" is just a phrase meaning "friend" where I come from. Make sense now?" He hoped it did. He didn't really want to keep going over terminology with her.

She nodded, getting an understanding for it... Still... She didn't understand the reason he was talking so weird, or why people had accents to begin with. "I am Radom." She introduced herself back. "You're... Lost?"

"Yeah jus' a bit," he replied with a nervous laugh. "I'm not much suited to the jungle! Doesn' help much that m' wing's broken, eh?" Spode glanced back over his shoulder at the normally clean white feathers. They were a mess. Not really from blood but definitely full of leaves at least. They would need some decent repair before flying.

"Oh..." She put a hand up to her mouth, her eyes widening a little. "Are you alright, I mean... Are you going to be alright? How bad is it, I..." She didn't know what to say... She didn't have wings... She didn't know how important they were to his health and so didn't know what level of concern she should be at.

He shrugged, wincing as the muscles in his back that attached to the wings were strained. "I'll be alrigh' after a bit... No way can I fly for a while though." Spode couldn't help but smile at her reaction. It was nice of her to be concerned even if she didn't know him.

"Well..." She took a look around them. "I'm afraid I am not very familiar with these jungles yet... If you are headed somewhere, I likely don't know where it is..."

"Wasn't really headed anywhere," he admitted freely. His tail sort of slumped as he spoke and he looked up to the sky with a sigh. "I'd just been flying overhead but got tired. When I went t' land, it just ended up messy. Trust me, my wing'll heal but walking will be my only way out'ta here."

"So you're just looking to get out of the jungle?" She tilted her head the other way as she asked the question.

Spode gave a nod as his reply. "I'd prefer not t' spend the night 'ere. Again, not used t' it and I don't know what's out here! Sure you're nice but some of the native animals might not be!" He again let out a laugh as he looked back at her. He wasn't intimidated by her in the least, looking into her eyes as he spoke. "Sorry if I'm bein' a little odd compared t' anyone you know out here. Personalities and accents can't much be changed."
