Talon was following the path of smoke, it would likely lead to fresh air. She did not go at full speed though... She had to make sure she left with Fang, she had to make sure that he escaped with her... Else their species would be truly doomed.

Fang was right behind her. Unlike her he was not used to the idea of escape from certain doom. He coughed as he inhaled the smoke from the fire and destruction and occasionally the high pitched sound of his talons slipping up against the metal of the building could fill the air. Fortunately thanks to Talon and Issil he escaped as well.
Used to the smoke at least, Issil was alright. Still his heart pounded as did his head. Could things get worse? Thankfully the fire escape hadn't been blocked off... Still as they emerged into the open air he felt something churning in the pit of his stomach. Growl and whatever the mimic had been both escaped for sure. The smell of burning and the screams of agony from within the lab were almost too much for him to handle. He did his best to block out the roars and wails of the falling Raptors... especially the young ones. The tragedy hurt him but he was sure it hurt Talon most of all.

Talon gained distance from the building, a lot of distance. Far enough away that she couldn't hear the sounds, or see the burning structure. Then she promptly curled up into a ball on the ground. Tail hiding her face from view.

Fang stood near by... or rather he would have if he wasn't hugging his knees while sitting on the ground. He wrapped his tail around himself for comfort. He too was hiding his face. His hands were balled into fists, so tightly gripped that his claws left small scratches on his scales. I'm so sorry... he thought. I'll never forgive myself for this... I failed you all.
Keeping himself together for the sake of being strong, Issil watched the two Raptors. He was emotionless and silent for a time to let the two of them have their moment. "We'll get Growl for this." He assured them.

"It is but another payment of blood that will come for him." Talon growled quietly. "He has slain countless before, and when he falls, all those that he has killed before will find him in the after times and tear him to shreds."

Listening to her words, Fang uncurled. He stood up, albeit shakily, and nodded. His jaw was still locked and his fists were still very tightly balled. His lip curled to expose his teeth and he spoke in a hiss. "Crimes such as this do not go without their due."

Issil, I think you should give them some time to themselves... Her voice was very quiet. After all... They are the last of their species, that I can sense... I don't believe any other mortals escaped the building's destruction, except Growl.

Issil sighed. Yes I suppose you're right, Case... I admit I'm impressed by the two of them. They are showing quite a lot of composure despite how emotional the moment is. ...Still I cannot say I am pleased with how events turned out. That creature who mimicked me destroyed the lab and the innocents within with MY power. It's my fault they died.

They would have tried to destroy the building whether or not you were involved. That was Hatred, one of my sister's children... He copies other beings appearance and abilities, and either frames them for wrong doing or makes them face their darkest selves.

Mmm... yes but I've already faced my darker self many a time. He couldn't have known of course but I was well aware of what he was doing. Though my original plans failed me and the heat of battle did change the way my thinking functioned, I'd like to say I can at least be consoled that I managed to pull through. Still I cannot help but feel responsible even if you say the building would still have been destroyed. Talon and Fang deserve some form of consoling even if it's only that I am prepared to assist them.

Just leave them for a little while, I want to talk with you. Eye to eye.

Understanding, Issil gave her the equivalent of a mental nod. Where shall we meet, Case? After all I need specifics.

Just travel out of sight of them, it will be a little while until they're in a moving state again. She answered softly, an image of a gathering of rocks up to the east flashed in Issil's mind.

Issil nodded once more then after a quick explanation that he would return, he spread his wings and took off. He found his muscles were rather sore from the battle already but he knew he could take further abuse. He landed at the rocks Case had showed him and leaned against one of them for some well deserved rest. He looked forward to seeing his goddess again.

Case formed next to Issil, her body seeming to be pulled together by wisps of the very clouds coming down. The green hedgehog that was the form she took smiled at him kindly. "You did well Issil, Talon has now met with Fang and they both escaped the structure. No raptors would live past this day if you had not been here."
Talon finally pulled herself out of being curled into a ball, she looked around confused as the winged cat was no longer anywhere in sight. She assumed he would be back... She assumed. The raptor looked over at Fang... There had been much death, but she was alone no longer.
