Issil smiled at her, blowing a few strands of his red hair from his face. "Thanks for your praise Case. I appreciate the support. That was rather... interesting. Not to mention tiring. Still I'm glad Talon is no longer alone. She seems like she could use the company of somebody more like her."
Fang, who had been standing still, looked back at her. He met her gaze for a few seconds then looked away back to the direction of the lab. Sorrow showed in his very body language.

She nodded. "That was what she needed most of all." The goddess closed her eyes a moment and then looked off into the distance. "Despite being a goddess... I have only limited control over this world. I cannot promise them revenge, only a chance at it. I need you to lead them towards where I believe Growl will be headed."

Stretching his triceps and such, Issil nodded. He opened his mouth to speak but a yawn came out. Still he cracked his back with a satisfying pop and continued. "Mmm... I can handle that much. We'll have to see how things turn out. They're both motivated now, correct? It shouldn't be hard to persuade them to move in the same direction as him."

Case gave a sad smile, and then shook her head. "No... They won't need and persuasion... You however are the one I'm worried about... You have so little to do with any of this."
Talon stood and walked over to Fang. Wordlessly she put her arms around the other raptor and held him close.

"Do I?" Issil asked. His voice seemed like his mind was far away. "Case I've become involved. Talon is my friend and I owe it to her and Fang to assist. You sent me on this mission and if you say the word I'll continue. I can't just leave things half finished and wonder what turns everything took."
At first Fang did not respond. Then he heaved what sounded like a sigh and closed his eyes. "Thank you." he whispered, grateful for her comfort.

Case's smile grew a little and she gave him a nod. "Of course, and you have my blessing if you wish to go on." She moved a fair bit closer and then kissed him on the cheek gently. "I knew I had chosen the right Champion."

Initially he did not react. He did not know how to. He seemed surprised, nay shocked, that she had kissed him. Still he relaxed and closed his eyes with a soft, warm smile. "I appreciate the blessing... and the confidence in me. It isn't easy... you know being brave. I've never really had much of a reason to be. I mean the only time I've ever been a fighter was-" He paused, taking a deep breath to get the bitter memory out of his thoughts. "...well was when I fought Kitty back a long time ago."

She shook her head. "Nay. All warriors are such from birth, they simply need the right instance to awaken it. You are brave, it is not something that comes and goes. Certainly it is different for myself but I know you are capable of this. Despite what horrible things may occur, my sister and evil always fails in the end."

"Mmm... thanks for the vote of confidence, Case." He seemed distant for a fragment of time. Was there more to him than initially perceived? Perhaps so. Thinking about Kitty caused him to ball his fists. His claws dug into his palm until he was forced to release his grip.

Case of course was not a normal being, she was not mortal and her very existance fed off of the feelings and actions of mortals. She could feel Issil's thoughts and the digging of his claws into his palm. She quickly slipped her hands inside of his to avoid him hurting himself again. "You are not the same as before. I saw you fight Hatred, and defeat him. You have beaten your darker self."

He was grateful she had. After all, at times he had trouble with his own emotions and having had quite an interesting past did not assist with it. Normally even his sister's name brought back some bitter thoughts he wished to keep buried within himself. "And I will defeat him again if he and Growl ever return. I owe Fang and Talon at least that much."

Case removed one hand from him, but still held his other. She pointed off in the distance. "They are headed for the Mystic Ruins, and the jungles that way."

Issil's gaze followed her pointing and he nodded. "Now the question I'm most concerned with is why... Wasn't destroying the lab enough? They ended with massive damage to the Raptor species yet again. Their goals seem obscured."

"The path is very specific." Case shook her head. "Destroying the raptor lab was simply on Growl's whim. Hate agreed on it likely because the Raptor's in the past were my sister's enemies. But now..." She turned back to Issil and placed her free hand on is forehead. An image flashed in his mind quickly, that of a tall tower surrounded by mountains that didn't seem to stretch as high. "Growl is headed to the tower... I sense Hatred is taking a detour, but he will likely head there as well. The tower holds links to all three of us, yet I have not been there myself in some time. She could be planning something there."

Issil nodded. The image of the tower was embedded into his memory, this he made sure of. He wanted to know its exact appearance in case he needed to. "Hmm... makes sense enough."
