Cato stayed further inside- The storm reminded him of worse things, so it felt safer in the doorway. He couldn't stop himself from looking around at the beautiful tower he was in...

Blood looked back at him when she heard that, she could see him standing back in the room of the level the balcony was on. She frowned. "You're hungry, aren't you?"

Blood sighed, not sure what to do now. She didn't really have 'food'. She never needed to eat, only occassionally 'feed'. She had tea but that was because she had that from a long time ago and it didn't really go bad. "I'll... See if I can get you anything to eat." She walked past him to the door. "I need to leave the tower for a bit, feel free to look around while I'm gone."

Cato nodded, watching Blood leave downstairs. The room they were in held lots of books- Some were obviously used more than others, and some were in languages he had never seen before.
"...." Well. He could always read a book he supposed. Lets see...

(OOC - ....What kind of book should he read? Like, should it add to the plot, or should we just make it a time filler?)

The bookshelves were very dusty, but one book seemed to stand out from rest. It seemed more carefully taken care of, and despite how old it probably was it didn't look like it would fall apart any time soon. The title was written in unrecognizeable script, though it appeared to be a book of legends, of creatures and myths of the world yet it spoke of them as if they were real. One section seemed more well read than the others, enough that there was a slight break in the spine that made the section stand out. It was titled 'The Triplets', it started as thus.
Deities are odd creatures, immortal beings of amazing power that have over the very existance of existance have manipulated the events of time, space, and matter. Some have been around since the very beginning of existance, other gods were born and even died inbetween that time. Earth is one of the most prized possessions of deities, though throughout space many worlds with living creatures exist but none have the same individuality of Earth. It is of many different ideas and realities finely sown together so that the chaos exists in perfect balance. Though a few 'gods' watch over this planet most don't get directly involved in events involving the mortals, except three that have been manipulating events for all of Earth's existance. The three gods are the triplets of Chaos, for they were born all at the same time. Being creatures of Chaos they are constantly acting to make the world change, not content witht he slow rate it would go at otherwise. The changes they make are determined on the specific god. Case the goddess of Light Chaos changes events in benevolent ways, miricles and the like. Cade the goddess of Dark Chaos manipulates fate towards catastrophies, war, and ultimately evil. Came the god of pure Chaos, that inbetween good or evil, simply manipulates things so that they constantly change without truly caring if it is a blessing or a curse. Following their way of living were the creation of the precious gems. Came created the Chaos Emeralds, seven gems of power that can be used by whomever finds them, over the ages the Seven Chaos Emeralds have both caused dissastors and diverted them. Case created the Master Emerald, a large green gem that radiates peace and can estinguish the destructive fires of the Chaos Emeralds. As Case will reach out to her brother and calm his destructive spirit. Cade created the Tyrant Emerald, a large blood red gem full of dark energies. This energy can corrupt the power of the Chaos Emeralds, filling them with Negative energy that can only lead to evil. Came is eager to please either sister and should one ask something of him he obeys, not carying that he is commiting evil and loving being able to make his sister happy. The two more powerful of the three, the light and dark goddesses, are other than chaos heavy opposites and oppose each other at all oppertunities. For centuries they have been manipulating events against each other, controling or guiding mortals towards acts of evil and good. Cade wishes absolute control over this world of mortals, Case only wants to keep the balance. Came remains out of their fights and acts as wild as the wind, only aiding one or the other if he's convinced it won't harm the other. Gods are powerful being capable of bending reality, capable of turning something into nothing or creating something from nothing. As such each of the three have created beings they consider their 'children', but most of the time known as demons. Cade being the most powerful of the three and so has the most children, being the most capable of creating these powerful immortals. Arguably the most powerful child is Plague. The robed figure wielding a scyth, myth depicts the Grim Reaper as a skeletal figure wielding a scyth. Plague laughs at the distorted images humans come up with when affraid. Plague is rebelious and refuses to serve his mother, constantly seeking souls to devour in order to become more powerful, his goal being to accend towards godhood himself. He attacks his siblings with no regrets as their immortal souls are the strongest, most flee from him in these conflicts but plague has been able to devour the soul of one of his siblings so far, and now has a taste for the rest. Darkness, he has been Cade's favored child for a long time. He has spread despair across the world from the very begining of his creation, battleing the followers of Case and succeeding in the deaths of two of her children. He was sought out in revenge and sealed away in an ancient temple. Where he waits imprissoned for a way out. Oblivion is one of the most destructive of Cade's children, very powerful and brutally obedient. He was crippled by the followers of Case and became unable to exist outside of his mother's realm, but she brought him into this world again by binding his soul into the body of a mortal. The mortal Hedgehog's soul was weak and easilly absorbed, Oblivion very nearly commited the genocide of the Echidna race and dissapeared afterwards. Vanity was bound to the soul of a mortal like that of her Brother Oblivion. But unlike Oblivion, her host's soul was strong and so instead of absorbing the echidna's soul they merged together. Vanity used to be as her name, caring only that she herself was a perfect being and all other not worthy of her presense, when she merged with the Echidna though she 'perfected' the appearance of the girl she lost all vain thoughts and feelings. It is believed it was her that stopped oblivion from killing the Echidna race, and then dissapeared just as mysteriously. Hatred is one of her most loyal children, mostly mindless other than the urge to spread hatred. The form he takes is always to ruin the good name of some existing being. He manipulates events to whatever his mother asks for. Unknown, not much is known about this child. His soul was devoured by Plague and the location of his body is not known. His history also seems to have vanished. Lastly is Blood, one of Cade's younder children and a Daughter. Blood represented despair, but the way it came to her was her own saddness. Despite this she is capable of happyness, but events always seem to in the end lead to despair. She is hauntingly beautiful and this angered Vanity, Blood's sister placed a curse on her and so Blood has yet another reason to be sad. And the reason she hides away from the world.
It continued on from there to describe the children of the other gods and more about them.

The book that Cato found was quite interesting to say the least- He audibly gasped at the stories of the 'Gods', and shuddered at the tale of Plague...
However, when he hit 'Blood'...
"The stories... Are true?" He almost dropped the book honestly. But, if Blood was cursed, what was it exactly? The book didn't say. (He was wondering about this 'unknown' demon as well, but with a name like that you couldn't help it really.) All the same, maybe that's why she was so sad. "Hnn..."
The goat stood up, replacing the book on the shelf behind him before taking a seat on one of the cushions in the room. How bad was it, that curse...

When Cato placed the book on the shelf, a small piece of folded paper fell out of the shelf. It did not seem to be from a book, it was odd being the only thing on the shelf that wasn't a thick book.

The note was hastily scrawled, and looked like it had been torn out of a journal.
It is not safe here she seems gentle enough but I found the basement. I saw the bodies frozen like in death and trapped in the thick webs If this is found I am already dead. I will try and get her before she can kill me I need to prepare an ambush before she returns from th

Needless to say, after such a note, Cato was completely white. "E-E-Eeeeeehhh??"
N-No way! Then, she was just trying to- The goat caught himself before jumping to a conclusion, the note stuffed in his pocket as he looked at the telescope beside him. No.. This was probably.. If she was trying to make him leave, then, maybe that curse was...
He picked up the telescope, taking in a deep breath as he headed towards the stairs. Only one thing to do! He didn't like invading other people's space but... Just to see if he was right, he would go down into the basement, and see for himself!
About halfway down the stairs, he shuddered- He hoped that note was wrong... He didn't want the first nice meeting he'd had to turn out badly...

What Cato didn't know was blood was already back. Her dress was soaked, she was working quietly in the kitchen, having made a quick trip around she had carefully 'borrowed' a few things from the gardens of farms closest to her tower. She was not the most expert cook but... Stew wasn't that hard to make. She had no idea Cato was headed to the basement.

Cato, thankfully, was a very quiet person. So, as he slipped downstairs, nervous as he was, he didn't make a single sound. Though he did almost make one as the stench of rotted flesh hit him halfway down the basement stairs.
Urg... He gagged, spotting what looked to be a shriveled arm further down the way. Maybe he should head back... He thought he had smelt something else upstairs after all. Wait... Didn't that mean...
She was already back! Going a bit pale, Cato slipped back upstairs to follow the nicer of the smells, deciding to trust his own judgement rather than that of the note's. (This probably would not turn out to be the better of two ideas.)

(note: Their wouldn't really be 'rotting flesh' as it was 60 years since blood's last visitor. There would be skeletons in the webs, yes)
Blood worked quietly, and perhaps even happily. Oblivious to Cato's little exploration journey, and oblivious to him reading the book, and oblivious to the note's existance.
